 Congratulations to Jack Dalie from Springfield, Ohio on his first National Senior Bowling Association championship. Jack started by qualifying 3rd and defeated Steve Scherle from Canada, 232-212, Tim Magyar, Redford, 212-197 and Joe Buffa from Macomb Twp., 256-232 to advance to the title match.
In a game that went to the 10th frame, Dalie edged Fred McClain from Allen Park, 206-194. Jack picked up the winner’s check of $1,000 and the championship trophy for his effort.
McClain qualified 4th and had wins over Steve Sears from Michigan Center, 237-176, George Phillips of Centreville, 226-196 and Bill Stewart of Plainwell, 225-175. Fred pocketed the runner-up check of $500.
Tournament Director Bob Pniewski presents the trophy to this month's champion.
High game honors went to Jack Dalie and Steve Sears with 279. John Thomasma from Kalamazoo led the qualifying.
