Gregor then proceeded to beat Bill Haynes of Rochester Hills, 247-206 and Rick Parschen of Strongsville, Ohio, 236-201 to advance to the title round. The final match was close all the way until Rick finally prevailed with a win over Bob Frink from Washington, 235-200. Rick pocketed the winner’s check of $1,000 and the championship trophy for his effort. Frink qualified 11th and proceeded to get by Ed DeBlock from Canada, 226-171, Dick Selgo from Archbold, Ohio, 256-237, and Dennis Korkoske from E. Lansing, 243-207 before losing to Gregor. Bob collected the runner-up check of $500. High game honors went Mike LaRocca with 300 and Rick Wayne led the qualifying.
