Congratulations to Bill Stewart from Plainwell on winning the National Senior Bowling Association tournament on February 2nd held at Oak Lanes in Westland. Bill qualified 10th and beat James Millen from Redford, 192-148, Rick Gregor of Sterling Heights 214-146 and Mike LaRocca from New Hudson 236-201 to advance to the title match. In a tight game all the way, Stewart finally threw 3 strikes in the 10th to beat Brian Senda from Manchester 219-186.
Bill collected the top prize of $1,000 and the Championship trophy for his effort.
Senda was the leading qualifier and proceeded to down Scott Meeker from Toledo, Ohio 208-148, Pat Ramsey of Northville 172-154 and edged Fred McClain from Allen Park 173-169 to bowl for the title. Brian collected the runner-up check of $500.
