With a come from behind effort, the team of Bob Frink/ Washington and Bill Haynes/  Rochester Hills, won the member/member doubles tournament held at Skore Lanes in Taylor on May 9, 2009.  In a tight match all the way to the 10th frame, Frink threw a strike on his first ball in the 10th to edge out a 209-202 victory over the team of Dave Eatman/ Ferndale and Phil Horowitz/ West Bloomfield.

Qualifying in the 11th spot, Frink and Haynes beat Jim Burton/ Novi and Mike LaRocca/ New Hudson, 228-190, Steve Sears/ Michigan Center and Tom DeBacker/ Chelsea, 205-189 and Mark Hatchigian/ Novi and Ron Burgess/ Plymouth, 218-189. For their win, they each received a check for $500, a championship trophy, a championship towel and they will also receive a check for $300 from Lane #1 as they both were using Lane #1 equipment.

Eatmon and Horowitz qualified 10th and proceeded to beat Mike Lucente/ Warren and Steve Hubble/ Westland, 223-206, Joe Buffa/ Macomb Twp. and Rick Capaldi/  Canton, 235-202 and Joel Eitner/ Taylor and John Masiello/ Southgate, 244-236. They each received the runner-up check of $300.

High Baker game honors went to Mark Hatchigian and Ron Burgess with 299 and the team of Joe Buffa and Rick Capaldi were the high qualifiers.

The next NSBA tournament will be held at Merri Bowl Lanes in Livonia on June 13, 2009.
