 B. J. Galloway from Alpena qualified 16th and won 5 matches on his march to victory on June 13, 2009 at Merri-Bowl Lanes in Livonia. Galloway beat Bill Stewart of Plainwell, 200-177, Gary Treier from Redford, 232-175 and Dick Selgo of Archbold, Ohio, 224-147 to advance to the semi-finals.

In his closest match of the day, B.J. emerged with a 193-182 win over Perk Fairris of Flint and then proceeded to beat Dave Tulak from Taylor, 234-183 for the win. For his effort, Galloway received the first place check of $1,000, the championship trophy, a championship towel and a certificate, compliments of Red Robin Restaurants, for dinner and a show for two.
Tulak qualified 3rd and beat Ernie Segura, Sr. from Southgate, 224-202, Kenny Lang of Eastpointe, 270-176 and Bill Haynes of Rochester Hills, 212-204 to reach the final match. Dave received the runner-up check of $500.
