Congratulations to Dave Tulak of Taylor in winning the National Senior Bowling Association’s September tournament at Oak Lanes in Westland. Tulak qualified 7th and beat Steve Sears from Michigan Center, 184-152, Dick Selgo from Archbold, Ohio, 228-212 and Tim Magyar of Redford, 237-191 to advance to the final match.

Tulak pulled away from Larry Franz of Redford starting in the fifth frame with the next 5 strikes for a 259-174 victory. Dave received the first place check of $1,000, the championship trophy, and the championship towel for his effort.

Franz qualified 5th and defeated John Ciantar of Monroe, 206-178, Rick Schultz from Warren, 238-177 and in a game that was decided in the 10th frame, Franz edged Larry Walker from Garden City, 206-203. Franz received the runner-up check of $500.

With the addition of the second chance for super seniors, John Ruggiero, III of Belleville, having qualified 45th, defeated John Ross, Jr. from Vassar, 246-233. Also qualifying for the super senior event were Wayne Murray, Grand Blanc; Bob Edwards, Lima, Ohio; Jim Rock, Kalamazoo; Joel Eitner, Taylor; Ernie Segura, Sr., Southgate; Enrico Odorico, Clinton Twp.
