ImageThe Holiday Tournament was a huge success starting with lunch and drinks after the qualifying, compliments of the NSBA and Bodary Brackets, and ending with the highest scoring finals in the history of the National Senior Bowling Association.  The tournament was held on Saturday, December 12th at Plaza Lanes in Plymouth.

Steve Sears from Michigan City edged Ernie Segura, Sr. from Southgate, 265-259 as both continued to throw strikes. Ernie finished last and needed 2 strikes to win, but failed to carry the second strike. Sears, qualifying in 9th  place, beat Bill Haynes, Rochester Hills, 223-203;  Tony Stipcak, Redford, 245-202; Dick Selgo, Archbold, Ohio, 259-218 and Terry Kandes, New Boston, 247-208 to advance to the final match. Steve took home the first place check of $1,300 and the special Holiday championship trophy. The win also catapult Sears past 2 other bowlers to win Rookie of the Year honors.
