Starting in 2008, the NSBA will be implementing a special point system to determine both Bowler of the Year and Rookie of the Year. Special prizes and recognition will be awarded to the winners in both categories based on the point system listed below.

In a tightly contested match all the way to the tenth frame, the duo of Roy Sonier from Southgate and John Ciantar of Monroe finally emerged victorious over Mike McCleskey of Southfield and Ralph Jennings from Detroit, 233-217 in the NSBA annual double’s event. The qualifying round is the total of the 12 games bowled and the finals are bowled in the Baker format.

Congratulations to Ralph Jennings from Detroit in winning his first National Senior Bowling Association tournament. The tournament was held at Superbowl Lanes in Canton on August 9, 2008. Jennings, qualifying in the 10th spot, proceeded to beat Dick Selgo from Archbold, Ohio, 226-159, Chuck Novak from New Baltimore, 227-192, and John Ross, Jr., of Vassar, 246-217 to advance to the title round.
